Hindi Dramatics (Senior)

Hindi dramatics provides an insight into the Indian social and cultural milieu through reading texts, the understanding of space, movements, acting, costume, make-up, stagecraft, art and aesthetics, ways of seeing, observation, getting a sense of light and sound, poster and brochure designing, communication and interaction, along with creative fulfillment. Most recently, the Hindi dramatics team produced its ambitious play Andha Yug by Dharamveer Bharti on DS-75 Founder’s Day and a brilliant production of The Court Martial in 2012. Over sixty boys from the senior, middle and junior school, with the help of five masters, gave successful and meaningful performances in the MPH on the occasion. The Superrama scholarship is awarded to the best contributor to Hindi drama in the School, the best actor, and best supporting actor based on merit and performance. One-Act Inter-House Hindi play contests area staged every alternate year. The emphasis on acting at the school level can go a long way in a boy’s life. Acting helps in college admissions through the extra-curricular quota which is being increasingly recognized in Indian universities and this experience can help a boy gain admission to prestigious acting schools in India and overseas
