Doon is an independent school and does not receive government support. Doon relies on income from tuition, endowment and voluntary contributions from its well wishers and alumni to pay its annual operating expenses, scholarships and bursaries as well as for its capital projects. Doon is rich in many and varied ways, but its general reserves are minimal.
School fees do not generate a surplus for reinvestment. The aim of The Doon School Development Programme is to:
• Increase funding substantially for high-priority capital projects
• Establish a permanent endowment of significance.
• Enlarge the number of scholarships and bursaries in order to make a Doon School education affordable to even more young men in search of all-round excellence.
