DOSCO Retreat – Venue The Doon School

 

Old Boys are frequently nostalgic about their time in school. They try and recreate the ambience at every Old Boy gathering. Sentiment runs high and fond (some not so fond) memories are juggled around. Wives are frequently bored and the children cannot get away fast enough!!

Now comes the chance to take care of all three: the Old Boy, the Old Boy’s spouse and the kids.

The delightful campus and it’s extensive facilities are now open to Old Boy’s and their families. Come and relive your days on the sports field, in the Art school or in Music?? Even doing nothing – sunning yourself on the Main Field can be quite exhilarating in December.

Plenty of activities planned for the ladies and for the children.

All arrangements will be looked after by professionals.

  • Rs 12,500/- for Adult
  • Rs 7,500/- for Child (under 12 years of age) 


Tentative Programme for a DOSCO RETREAT in December 2009
Day 1
12.30 pmArrive Dehra Dun by train from Delhi
 Proceed to school in a chartered bus and check in to the Boarding House(s). Drinks and lunch in the CDH
4 pm Orientation Programme in the Main Building
5 pm Tea
 Post Tea – Flood lit Tennis / Squash / Basketball Courts available with coaches. Common room open in the Boarding House for indoor games such as Carom, Bridge etc.
7.30 pm Drinks in the CDH.
8.00 pm to 10 pm Dinner
Day 2
9.00 am to 10 amBreakfast
10.15 am Assembly in MPH (To be taken by a former Headmaster or Deputy Headmaster)
10.30 am Photographs
11.00 amOnwards Inter House Cricket, Soccer matches
1.00 pmDrinks and Lunch (Pavilion)
 Post lunch Inter House Cricket etc. continues Old Boys can use the other outdoor playing facilities

Day 3

 Post lunch Pack up and depart for
i) River Rafting ii) Ananda iii) Mussoorie iv) Back to Delhi

During the course of the Camp – the Music School, Art School, Computer Lab, Resource Centre, Hospital, CDH and Library will be kept open throughout the day.

Instructors and Coaches will be available for all the activities and games.

House Keeping and Catering will be handled by a professional agency.

The organisers will be in charge of the group from the time they disembark at Dehra Dun Railway Station.


The following facilities will be provided in the residential areas:

  • Bed side mat
  • 3 Bed sheets: one at the bottom, one below the quilt and one above to the quilt
  • Bath Towels/Hand Towel to be changed every day.
  • Water flask, bed side mat
  • Shaving Kit
  • Bed Room slippers

The bathrooms will be segregated for MEN & WOMEN. They will have running HOT & COLD water as well as private bathing areas with shower curtains!

Trained bearers and security staff will be on duty round the clock for your convenience and safety.
