Letter to the Editor
The Issue of the ‘Joint’
Hold on, before anyone gets any freaky ideas, I should, at the very
outset, clear my intention behind the writing of this letter. It is
not to excite your brain or give you a head rush or make you feel
light! I am writing about the other joint; the joint
‘Editors-in-chief,’ joint ‘Secretaries,’ joint ‘Boys-in-charge,’ the
list goes on. It is quite a perplexing proposition. Are we undermining
the capability of an S former to head a publication or Society alone?
Or are we trying to state that we cannot decide between two likely
candidates and so, instead of ‘shattering’ one of them, decide that we
might as well appoint both of them. Does this do justice to either of
the two candidates? Can we not be more decisive and make a definite
choice? This ‘joint’ responsibility could have productive as well as
counter-productive effects. The S formers will, hopefully, work in
tandem and share the load, but in some cases, they might blame each
other for not doing the job at hand, which in turn will lead to lower
efficiency levels.
I feel that, being given sole responsibility will promote leadership
qualities. I hope that S formers agree with my theory and prove that
they can go it alone!

The Divine
Meeting
Arjun Sethi
(D form)
As I lay silently in my bed.
All strange ideas filled my head.
Is life always just?
Whom can I actually trust?
I wondered about them deeply
Until I was fast asleep.
I lay in a comforting darkness
And in front of me was light.
Just light and darkness, except for it,
There was nothing in my sight.
It was God, whom at last I could meet.
Alas! I forgot everything, even to touch His feet.
Then, His blessings did shower.
At that time, I felt His great power.
Suddenly, it came to an end.
I was back in the world without any friend.
What was it? Will it happen again?
I was feeling as if there was no pain.
I still remember,
For such memories cannot be forgotten.
Changed, my heart, earlier stone,
Now, accepts being alone.
