The minutes of the previous School Council meeting were passed. Proposed by
Anant Kumar and seconded by Abhishek Singhi.
2. MATTER ARISING OUT OF THE MINUTES
i) Mr. Lal said that the minutes of the School Council should be
circulated a week after the meeting, otherwise members tend to forget the
matters discussed in the meeting.
ii) HMD said that a solution to the mosquito problem is plants such
as citronella which don’t harm the boys or teachers on campus.
3. DRAMA COLOURS
Tushaar Kuthiala brought up the topic. Karm Choudhury felt that if art and
music have their awards, drama should too. Sahil Batta said that if colours
exist for every sport, then why not for all activities? PBR said that there
would be too many colours. There could be one award for co-curricular
activities in general. PKN felt that drama already gets enough recognition.
The topic was postponed for further discussion till the next meeting. KPB
urged the members to initiate thinking on this in the school community.
4. HELPING HAND FOR MR. BHUPINDER
Tushaar said that Mr. Bhupinder had a lot of regular office work and college
recommendations to deal with and thus it took a lot of time to prepare the
transcripts for college admissions. Thus if the work was divided, it would
consume less time. KPB said that this would mean getting someone new into
the secretariat. The work there is very confidential and it is not
appropriate for part time assistants to work there. He suggested a separate
office for college work.
5. HEATERS IN COMMON ROOM
KPB said that boys had managed without heaters all these years. Also, the
school probably did not possess enough power capacity. JHH said that heaters
could cause fires. KPB said that probably the only secure solution was for
there to be heat radiators in the form of pipes. This was a long term
