Aloke Tirtha Bhowmick, Bachelor of Fine Art, Graphics, Painting, Sculpture, and Art History, Shantiniketan, Master of Fine Arts, Graphics, Painting, History of Art, Shantiniketan,has taught at Doon since 2000. Before he came to Doon, he was at the J. Krishnamurti School and the Lawrence School, Lovedale. His works have been exhibited nationally. His interests include music, dance, traveling, writing poetry and short stories, politics, and soccer.

Dinesh Chandra Bhatkoti, B.Sc., M.Sc., Zoology, Garhwal University, M.Ed., has taught at Doon since 1982. Before he came to Doon, he taught at a Central School and at the college level. His interests include photography, wild life, drawing and painting, and gardening.

Namrata Pandey, M.A., Psychology, Delhi University, Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling, NCERT, has worked in Doon since 2007. Before she came to Doon, she was working in an Education Overseas Venture and had twelve years of counselling experience in various schools in India. Her interests include reading, music, traveling and cooking.

Malvika Bhatt, M.Sc., Chemistry, Lucknow University, B.Ed., has taught at Doon since 2002. Before she came to Doon, she taught at Green Fields Public School, Delhi, and the Central School, Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC), Dehra Dun, for fifteen years. Her interests include art, craft, music, designing, and basketball.

Anand Kumar Mandhian, B.Sc., Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Garhwal University, M.Sc. (Chemistry), Garhwal University, B.Ed., has taught at Doon since 2004. Before he came to Doon, he taught at General B.C. Joshi Army Public School, Pithoragarh, and St Joseph's Convent School, Kotdwar. His interests include table tennis, photography, dramatics and science experiments.

Vinay Pande, B.Sc., Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, Lucknow University, M.Sc., Organic Chemistry, Lucknow University, has taught at Doon since 2000. Before he came to Doon, he taught at Lawrence School, Sanawar. From 2003-2006, he was Headmaster at the Sarla Birla Academy, Banglore. He is a commissioned NCC officer, was awarded the DG's baton of honour for being the best officer cadet. He did his basic mountaineering course from NIM, Uttarkashi. His interests include trekking and dramatics.

Mita Sharma, B.Sc. (Hons.), Chemistry, North Eastern Hill University, M.Sc., Chemistry, North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, has taught at Doon since 2004. Before she came to Doon, she worked as a lecturer at Janabharati College, Hyderabad, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sonitpur, Assumption Convent School, Abohar, and Army School, Nasik. Her interests include reading, swimming, and career counseling.

Kamal Ahuja, B.Com., Garhwal University, M.Com., Garhwal University, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, Academy of Management Studies, Dehra Dun, B.Ed., has taught at Doon since 1998. Before he came to Doon, he worked as a lecturer at the Institute of Management Studies, Dehra Dun, and was a guest faculty member at the Punjab National Bank Zonal Training Centre, Dehra Dun. His interests include soccer, trekking, reading, and drawing.

Sundeep Adhikari, M.Com., Accounts, Garhwal University, has taught at Doon since 2004. Before he came to Doon, he taught at the Gandhi International School, Indonesia, and St. Joseph's Academy, Dehra Dun. He also worked in a multinational organization as a manager for about a decade. His interests include Indian classical music and Hindi drama.

Mohammad Istemdad Ali, B.Sc. Hons, Economics, M.Sc., Calcutta University, B.Ed., has taught at the Doon since 2009. Before he came to Doon, he taught at St.Paul's School, Darjeeling for 6 years and St. Xavier's School, Sahibganj for 2 years. His interests include cricket, soccer, badminton, dominoes, kite flying, karate, reading and travelling.

Sanjiv Bathla, B.Com., Delhi University, Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies, London, M.A., Lucknow, B.Ed., is an Old Boy of the school and has taught at Doon since 2001. Before he came to Doon, he worked with the corporate world for eleven years. His interests include swimming, golf, fishing, photography, and painting and sculpture. He is a lifeguard, trainer, and examiner for the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS).

Ajit Bajaj, B.Com., Meerut University, M.A., Economics, Meerut University, has taught at Doon since 2004. Before he came to Doon, he taught at St. Joseph's Academy, Dehra Dun, Brightlands School, Dehra Dun. His interests include reading, cooking, and gardening.

Samik Das, M.Com., Calcutta University has taught at Doon since 2008. Before coming to the Doon he was teaching in The Himalayan Academy, Siliguri. His interests include sports, dramatics and writing.

Praveen Dwivedi, M.Com., Ph.D. MJP Rohilkhand University, has taught at Doon since 2008. Before he came to Doon, he taught at Sarala Birla Academy, Bangalore. His interests include adventure sports, badminton, cricket and reading.

Deepak K. Sharma, B.A., M.A., Economics, Garhwal University, has taught at Doon since 1988. Before he came to Doon, he taught at Welham Boys' School, Dehra Dun, and Scindia School, Gwalior. His interests include hockey, soccer, and the racquet games.

Vishal Mohla, B.Sc., Garhwal University, with a Professional Diploma in Software Design and Systems Management from the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), M.C.A. (DOEACC) has taught at Doon since 2000. Before he came to Doon, he worked for a year at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS). His interests include chess, computers, tennis and cricket.

Before he came to Doon, he taught at Birla Senior Secondary School, Pilani. His interests include mountaineering, adventure, social service, volleyball, soccer, and computers.

Augustin Rajan Singh, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Don Bosco Technical Institute, Course in teaching Design and Technology, Spalding Grammar School, Linconshire, UK, has taught at Doon since 1996. Before he came to Doon, he worked with a multinational company, Avery India Ltd. His interests include design and technology and music.

Stuti Bathla, B.A. (Hons.), English, Delhi University, has taught at Doon since 2001. Before she came to Doon, she was a Copy Editor with Penguin Books and Macmillan Publishers. She is an alumnus of Welham Girls' School. Her interests include reading, travel, and antiques.

Before he came to Doon, he taught at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. His interests include film studies, history of religions, philosophy, visual culture, theatre, and literature.

Priya Chauhan, B.Com., North Bengal University, M.A., IGNOU, B. Ed., has taught at Doon since 2001. Before she came to Doon, she taught at St. Mary's Convent, Dehra Dun, and the Carmel Convent, Gwalior. She has also worked as an announcer for the Western music programme on All India Radio (AIR). Her interests include badminton, swimming, trekking, ice-skating, stamp and coin collecting, traveling, reading, and music.

Shrey Nagalia, B.A. (Hons.), English Literature, Delhi University, M.A., English Literature, University of Warwick, has taught in Doon since 2009. His interests include Squash, Dramatics, Film appreciation and playing the guitar.

He also worked as a management trainee with the Oberoi Group of hotels in Mumbai. His interests include elocution, Western classical music, and interior design.

John Xavier, B.A. (Hons.), M.A., English, B.Ed., has taught at Doon since 2001. Before he came to Doon, he taught at St. Columbus School, New Delhi, St Mary's School, Calcutta, and St Joseph's College, Nainital. He has also been an editor with various publishing firms. His interests include basketball, cricket, soccer, tennis, table tennis, swimming, crossword puzzles, and quizzing.

Before joining Doon, she has worked with Ranbaxy Research Laboratories, Delhi, Dr. Lal Pathlabs Reference Lab, Delhi, Alliance Francaise de, Bangalore, Gulf Indian High School, Dubai, Saint Mary's, Dubai and G.D.Goenka World School, Sohna. Philip Michael Burrett, B.A., Geography, Guwahati University, M.A., English, Punjab University, B.Ed., has taught at Doon since 1985. Before he came to Doon, he taught in Delhi at The Frank Anthony Public School, Mount St Mary's School, and St. Columbus School. He represented Delhi at the National Athletics and Cross Country Championships between 1976 and 1980 and has represented The North London Athletic Club, UK. His interests include reading, traveling, student counseling, the study of Jungian psychology, and sports.

K. Prabhakaran Nair, B.A., Geography, Calicut University, M.A., Geography, Calicut University, B.Ed., Social Studies, has taught at Doon since 1988. Before he came to Doon, he taught at the Good Shepherd Public School, Ooty. His interests include swimming, soccer, trekking, and social and community service.

Mohammed Hammad Farooqui, B.A., Hindi, Garhwal University, M.A., Hindi, Garhwal University, Ph.D., Hindi, Garhwal University, B.Ed., has taught at Doon since1994. Before coming to Doon, he worked with the Uttar Pradesh government. In his spare time, he is a freelance journalist and creative writer for the print and electronic media. His interests include theatre, art, cinema, and social activism. He has thrice won the Best Director theatre award of the Uttar Pradesh government.

M.C. Joshi, M.A., Ph.D., Hindi, Kumaon University, M.Ed., has taught at Doon since 1979. His interests include swimming, soccer and hockey, Indian classical music, especially tabla, theatre, and trekking. He is also interested in community service projects and has done Round Square and other projects in Himachal Pradesh and in the Garhwal hills of Uttaranchal.

Devendra Mishra, B.A. (Hons.), Hindi, M.A., Hindi, Calcutta University, B.Ed., has taught at Doon since 2007. Before he came to Doon, he taught at St. Paul's School, Darjeeling. His interests include cricket, swimming and writing short stories.

Manoj Pandey, B.A.(Sanskrit literature, Hindi Literature), Allahabad University, M.A. (Sanskrit), from D.A.University, Indore, has taught at Doon since 2004. Before coming to Doon he taught at Sanmati Higher Secondary School, Indore, Birla Senior Secondary School, Pilani, DPS Adityapuram, Chittorgarh. From 2004 to 2006, he taught at the Sarla Birla Academy, Bangalore. His interests include squash, reading, social service and music.

Arvindanabha Shukla, B.A., M.A., Hindi, Meerut University, Ph.D., Hindi, Chaudhury Charan Singh University, has taught at Doon since 1991. His interests include sports, mountaineering, writing, and social service.

Vidhukesh Vimal, B.A., M.A., M.Phil., Hindi, University of Delhi, B.Ed., has taught at Doon since 2006. Before he came to Doon he taught at Mayo College, Ajmer, and St. Francis Desales School, New Delhi. His interests include writing, poetry, cricket, and volleyball.

Purnima Dutta, B.A., M.A., History, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, has taught at Doon since 1994. Before she came to Doon, she taught at St. Peter's Boys' School, Shillong, was a sub-editor at Sunday magazine, and worked with the Amrita Bazar Patrika, Calcutta, as features editor dealing with gender issues, education, aviation, environment, human rights, among others. Her interests include mountaineering, white water sports, reading, and film.

Piyush Malaviya, B.A., History, Allahabad University, M.A., Modern History, Allahabad University, M. Ed., has taught at Doon since 1989. Before he came to Doon, he taught at the Lawrence School, Sanawar. His interests include Indian classical music, the Hawaiian guitar, and cricket. He also teaches Political Science.

K.V. Arjun Rao, B.A. (Hons.), Delhi University, Post Graduate Diploma, University of St Andrews, has taught at Doon since 2003. He is interested in theatre and has performed at various places in India and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2003.

Rashid Sharfuddin, B.A. (Hons.), History, Delhi University, M.A., History, Delhi University, has taught at Doon since 2003. Before he came to Doon, he taught at the Lawrence School, Lovedale, and the Assam Valley School. He also worked for a short time with The Pioneer newspaper. His interests include soccer, cricket, hockey, travel, and 18th century Delhi.

Biren K. Chamola, B.Sc. (Mathematics, Statistics and Physics), M.A., Mathematics, Garhwal University, B.Ed., has been at Doon since 1999. He has a varied teaching experience in India, Indonesia and Singapore. He has taught Mathematics at ISC, IGCSE, A-Level and IB level. He is a keen player of squash, tennis and chess. His other interests include reading, traveling and trekking.

Anjan Chaudhary, B.Sc. (Hons), Mathematics, Calcutta University, M.Sc., Applied Mathematics, Calcutta University, has taught at Doon since 2004. Before he came to Doon, he taught at the Scindia School, Gwalior. His interests include reading, soccer, cricket, and photography.

Pankaj Joshi, B.Sc., M.Sc., Mathematics, Kumaon University, has taught at Doon since 1999. Before he came to Doon, he taught at the Army Public School, Noida. He has also had a short stint with Modi Korea Telecom. His interests include soccer, hockey, chess, photography, and road running. An avid and qualified mountaineer, he has accompanied the Doon School boys in expeditions to peaks above 20,000 feet in the Garhwal Himalayas.

Mona Khanna, B.Sc. (Hons.), Mathematics, M.Sc., Mathematics, Ph.D., Mathematics, University of Delhi, B.Ed., has taught at the Doon since 2007. Before she came to Doon, she taught at Step by Step World School, Jaipur, and Lakshmipat Singhania School, New Delhi. Her interests include reading and traveling.

Rahul Luther, B.Sc., M.Sc., Mathematics, Garhwal University, M.Ed., has taught in Doon since 2008. Before he came to Doon, he taught at Moravian Institute School, Dehradun for 3 years and at St.Thomas College, Dehradun for 16 years. His interest includes cricket, badminton, reading and comparative worldviews.

Manu Mehrotra, B.Sc. (Hons.), Mathematics, M.Sc., Mathematics, Delhi University, M.A., Mathematics Education, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), has taught at Doon since 2001.  From 2006 to 2009 he was in the University of Michigan. He rejoined the school in 2009. His interests include movies, music, mountaineering, travelling, photography, and road running. He participated in and finished two half-marathons. He has also accompanied the Doon School boys in expeditions to peaks above 20,000 feet in the Garhwal Himalayas.

Sudhir Thapa, B.Sc., M.A., Mathematics, Garhwal University, B.Ed. has taught at Doon since 2008. Before he came to Doon, he taught at Welham Girls' School, Dehra Dun for twelve years and was the head of Mathematics Department there for 9 years. His interests include cricket and trekking.

Abhijit Chattopadhya, Diploma from Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith, Lucknow, has been at Doon since 1983. Before he came to school he taught at Shriram Bhartiya Kalakendra, New Delhi, and Springdales School New Delhi. His interests include music, swimming and soccer. He was a regular artist on All India Radio, Nazibabad, and was honoured by the Governor of Uttarakhand for his contributions to music.

Priya Chaturvedi, B.A. (Hons.), History, Delhi University, Diploma (Piano), Prague Conservatoire of Music, has taught Western music at Doon since 2001. Before she came to Doon, she taught at the Delhi School of Music and Brightlands School, Dehra Dun. She has written for Destination Traveller (Delhi), North West Network (Nasik) andPoona Digest (Pune). She was given the Best Travel Writer Award (1984) by the Travel Agents Association of India. Among her interests are drama, 20th century poetry, art history, and Indian wildlife.

Nitin Chauhan, Bachelor of Physical Education, LNIPE, Gwalior, Master of Physical Education, LNIPE, Gwalior, has taught at Doon since 2001. Before he came to Doon, he taught at the General B.C. Joshi Army Public School, Pithoragarh. His interests include soccer, hockey, and cricket.

Michael James, B.A., Himachal University, Diploma in Physical Education, Punjab University, Patiala, has taught at Doon since 2001. Before he came to Doon, he taught at St Mary's Convent School, Kasauli, and the Army Public School. He played soccer for his university and represented the state in the Durand Cup and DCM Cup.

Ashish Dean, B.Sc., Christian College, Lucknow, M.Sc., Physics, Lucknow University, M.Phil., Nagaland Gobal Open University has taught at Doon since 2005. Before he came to Doon, he taught at the Springdales School, Lucknow, Delhi Public School, Jagdishpur, and St. John Bosco College, Lucknow. His interests include electronics and basketball. He represented Lucknow district in the UP State Basketball championship.

Sandip S. Mann, M.Sc. (Computer Science), Associates Degrees (Information Technology), is on Old Boy of the school and has taught at Doon since 2004. Before he came to Doon, he worked in the United States as CAO of a hospitality management company. His interests include aeromodeling, electronics, emerging technologies, and squash.

Rajesh Majumdar, M.Sc., Physics, University of Allahabad and B.Ed., IGNOU, has taught at Doon since 2005. Before coming to Doon, he taught at Mayo College, Ajmer and Rajghat Besant School, Varanasi. His interests include coin and paper currency collection, pencil collection, publication work, astronomy and traveling.

Devendra Singh, B.Sc., Agra University, M.Sc., Physics, Agra University, B.Ed., has taught at Doon since 1983. Before he came to Doon, he taught at Welham Girls' High School, Dehra Dun, Government Secondary School, Shinkafi, Nigeria, Convent of Jesus and Mary, Dehra Dun, and CNI Intermediate College, Dehra Dun. He is interested in innovative methods of classroom teaching, sports, and trekking. He conceptualized and set up the Physics Museum at Doon. In 2002, he was awarded the Government of India's National Award for Teachers 2001.
