The Doon School Triumphs at Everest Base Camp
On May 29, a day marking the anniversary of the first successful Everest expedition, fifteen members of The Doon School reached Everest Base Camp (17,500 ft), showcasing their indomitable spirit. The team, comprising thirteen students and two masters, left India on May 21 and returned on June 4, achieving a monumental milestone in the school’s history.
Students Madhav Mehra, Gurdev Raina, Ranveer Singh Saharan, Pranay Gupta, Vedant Gupta, Madhav Gupta, Shaurya Beriwal, Artham Gupta, Aanay Goyal, Harkirat Singh, Hridhay Kanodia, Dhruvraj Negi, and Siddharth Singh Bawa, under the guidance of Mr Manu Mehrotra and Mr Deepankar Sirohi, demonstrated exceptional perseverance and teamwork.
Their successful ascent to the base camp emphasized the importance of adventure and resilience, integral to The Doon School’s ethos. This achievement not only highlighted their physical endurance but also their unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries.
