Infinity 2017 was held at Aditya Birla World Academy from 23rd-24th Jan, 2017.
The Participants from The Doon School were TejitPabari, Utkarsh Agarwal, Shreyansh Pandey.
Highlights of the event were talks by Dr. James Tanton, Mathematical Association of America, USA and Dr. Inder K. Rana, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
A research paper was presented by Tejit Pabari on Mathematics In one View, is the Science of Infinity.
The students engaged with all participants from various schools and their exposure to the level of mathematics at the senior level was an insightful learning experience. Exploring dots was a new method of using basic mathematical operations which could be extended to higher-order calculus and infinite series.

A group of 9 B form boys represented the School at the 42nd Yale Model United Nations Conference at Yale University from the 19th to 21st of January 2017. The Conference, held at the historic and grand Yale University campus, had over 1800 participants from High Schools and Colleges across the world.
Along with participating at YMUN, The Doon School team visited the UN Headquarters in New York and also had two engaging and intense discussions- one, with the diplomats of the US Permanent Mission to the UN and another with the International Peace Institute (a leading Think Tank dealing with issues of Conflict Resolution, Peace Building and International Relations).
The Thar Desert Expedition, a ten day trek was held for the 6th consecutive year in December 2016. The journey began in Bikaner from Mehrasar to the Indo-Pak Sanchu Border. 19 students and masters participated in this arduous tour which was completed successfully by all the participants.
Trekking has always been an integral part of life at Doon and aims to enhance the boys’ wider education by offering this wonderful chance to enjoy and hone their interest and skill in trekking.
The trek included crossing huge sand dunes, observing desert wild life which included Chinkara, Desert Fox, Blue Bulls, Falcons, Damsel Cranes, Siberian Cranes and Jackals. The team also passed the Indira Gandhi Nehar Pariyojana, the longest canal of Asia and toured the Indo-Pak border at SANCHU.
