About

The Doon school

Located at the foothills of the Himalayas, The Doon School is India’s most prestigious all-boys’ boarding institution. Founded in 1935 by Satish Ranjan Das, the school’s 70-acre campus is rooted in a 90-year legacy of history, tradition, and visionary education. Built on the grounds of India’s original Forestry Research Institute and endearingly referred to as Chandbagh by our community, the school enjoys one of the most breathtaking campuses in the country.

Origin & History of The Doon School

The Doon School was founded in 1935 by S. R. Das, a lawyer from Calcutta, who later served as the Advocate General of Bengal and was a member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council of Lord Irwin.
