Experiential Learning Visit | Asan Barrage & HESCO Nature Camp
Students of D and C Forms, along with learners from The NEST Society, participated in an experiential learning visit to Asan Barrage and HESCO Nature Camp on Sunday, 8 February 2026. At Asan Barrage, a wetland of international importance, students explored migratory bird species, wetland ecosystems, and the role of such habitats in biodiversity conservation, while engaging in nature photography.
The learning continued at HESCO Nature Camp, where students were introduced to sustainable development, ecological balance, and community-led environmental solutions through interactive sessions and site exploration. A memorable highlight was an inspiring interaction with Padma Bhushan awardee Dr Anil Prakash Joshi, Founder of HESCO, who emphasised responsible, action-oriented citizenship.
The students were accompanied by Ms Rageshree Dasgupta, Mr Chit Ranjan Kagdee, Mr Manoj Pandey, Dr Sriniwas Swamy, Dr Ankur Joshi, Mr Rajat Sabharwal, Mr Keshav Bhatt, Mr Vinay Gusain, and Mr Soham Roy, whose guidance enriched the learning experience throughout the visit.
The visit reinforced The Doon School’s commitment to nurturing lifelong learners by providing students with a meaningful opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world environmental challenges and sustainable solutions through direct experience and reflection.
