Pastoral
The greatest strengths of the school spring from the quality of human relationships among the community and the sense of companionship which supports the well being prospects of the boys and masters. Most of the intrinsic values and traditions of school like democracy, secularism, egalitarianism, sense of adventure, the will to make a difference, the desire to serve the underprivileged, and the need to excel are all born at the pastoral level. Boys learn to treat each other and all members of the community with kindness, sensitivity and respect.
The pastoral support network here also includes a confidential and free wellbeing service for any boy who needs extra help, as well as an exceptional Wellness Centre which is very much in the heart of the school and offers 24-hour care for all boys. Well-being is a core part of school life.
The working week at The Doon School is Monday to Friday and weekends offer a rich programme of structured activities, social occasions and other recreational opportunities.
