Under-17 Team Events: The team won against Genesis School (2-0) and PPS Nabha (2-0) but narrowly lost to DPS, R.K. Puram (1-2). They advanced to the Pre-Quarterfinals, defeating Pinegrove School (2-0), but fell to Modern School (0-2) in the Quarterfinals.

Under-19 Team Events: The team excelled in their group, winning all matches but were defeated in the Quarterfinals by LK Singhania Education Centre (0-2).

Individual Highlights: Ansh Sikaria (U-14) reached the Pre-Quarters, Kaushal Kishor Golyan (U-17) secured 3rd place, and Anuj Agarwal (U-19) reached the Quarterfinals.

In a spectacular display of athleticism, our School Athletics Team achieved history in the making at the prestigious All-India IPSC Athletics Championship hosted at Punjab Public School, Nabha. With a lean, mean squad of just 13 exceptional boys, our champions brought home the coveted championship trophy in the boys’ category!

Let’s take a closer look at the medal winners who left their mark and made us all proud:

1. Gold in 4×100 meters Relay – Neil Bulchandani, Shardul Raghuvanshi, Raghuraaj Singh Sodhi, and Udathveer Pasricha showcased lightning speed and teamwork, clinching the top spot in this thrilling event!

2. Gold in 4×400 meters Relay – The same dynamic quartet, Neil Bulchandani, Raghuraaj Singh Sodhi, Rahul Oram, and Udathveer Pasricha, once again rose to the occasion, securing another gold in the relay!

3. Gold in 200 meters – Udathveer Pasricha, a true speedster, left no room for doubt by clinching the gold. He also bagged a Silver in the 400 meters, showing his versatility and incredible talent.

4. Gold in 100 meters – Neil Bulchandani proved his mettle, taking the top spot in the 100 meters. He also claimed a Bronze in the 200 meters.

5. Gold in Long Jump – Ananat Jain soared through the air and landed straight with a Gold in his incredible performance in the Long Jump event!

6. Silver in High Jump – Dhruv Murugappan defied gravity with his silver-winning high jump performance, showcasing his remarkable skills.

7. Silver in Javelin Throw – Shashank Dhiman displayed precision and power, earning a well-deserved silver in Javelin throw.

8. Bronze in 800 meters Run – Jai Shamshere Rana proved his endurance and determination, claiming the bronze in the 800 meters run.

1. Kovid Kagdee – A double threat, finishing 4th in both the 110 meters hurdle and 400 meters hurdle.

106 school teams participated in the event. Team R.A.V and team ALPHA RACING received appreciation from the jury. Team R.A.V comprising of Rana Sunjog Thind, Yashasvi Jain and Vansh Gandhi qualified for the Nationals by emerging as one of the top 10 teams of the event.

This competition was in collaboration with Formula 1 and students were supposed to design their scale model cars with the help of cnc routers, keeping in mind the drag friction and aero dynamics.

The competition started with scale model car races through nitrogen cyclinder and was followed by a verbal presentation of their design ,engineering, marketing strategy and social networking portfolios. Finally the teams had to create their car’s pit booth in a given time frame.

Based on his performance in the trials he has made it to the Indian Team. There were 2 trials (2 full competitions) where he competed with the top 12 junior shooters of India including the 2017 Indian team. He shot very well and improved his score by 11 points compared to his Nationals score (61^st NSCC Score 103/125 and Trials score of 114/125). He is now ranked 5^thamongst the top 12 and is a part of the Indian Team comprising of the top 6 shooters, also being the youngest shooter ever to achieve this. His participation for the upcoming international matches will be notified by NRAI in due course of time.

• Nehansh Saxena set a New Record in 100m Backstroke in Senior Category by clocking 1:18:18. Previous record was set by Akshay Sikand (431 TA) in  He also set a New Record in 50m Backstroke in Senior Category by clocking 00:35:22 s The previous record was set by Pratham Mittal in 2008.

• Tanay Gopal Agarwal became a joint a holder of the 50m Butterfly in the Seniors Category with Dilsher Kairon who set it in 2005.

• Raghav Kumar set a New Record in 200m Butterfly in Open Category by clocking 2:54:62. He broke his own record set in 2015

• Jayaditya Singh Dahiya set a New Record in 100m Breaststroke in Juniors Categoey by clocking 1:39:84 The previous record was set by Pratyaksh Parmar in 2012.

• In 4x100m Freestyle Relay- Seniors Category, Hyderabad House team comprising of Raghav Kumar, Nihal Singh Mann, Nehansh Saxena and Tanay Gopal Agarwal set a new record by clocking 4:35:84. The previous record was set by Jaipur House in 2008

• Anish Bhide set a New Record in 100m Butterfly in Medium Category by clocking 1:22:19. Previous record was set by Raghav Kumar  295 H  in  2014

• Shiven Dewan set a New Record in 50m Breaststroke in Medium Category by clocking 0: 38:53. He broke is own record set in 2015

• In 4x100m Medley Relay- Seniors Category, Hyderabad House team comprising of Raghav Kumar, Nihal Singh Mann, Nehansh Saxena and Tanay Gopal Agarwal set a new record by clocking 5:16:44. The previous record was set by Tata House in 2004.

• In 12x25m Freestyle Relay Jaipur House set a new record by clocking 3:05:06. They broke their own record set in 2008

• A total of 10 new records were set in this year’s Inter-House Swimming Competition.

The Doon School organized a successful ‘High Altitude Mountain Cycling Expedition’ from Manali to Leh for a period of two weeks in the summer.  The  Manali – Leh cycling trip is one of the most scenic, challenging and rewarding mountain cycling trips in the world. The team crossed five passes including Tanglang La (17,582 Ft) the second highest pass in the world. The school is the only educational institute in India to successfully complete this expedition for two consecutive years.

The school continues to provide an extensive training  through special coaching for our school table-tennis teams at SAI (Sports Authority of India) Stadium in Summer Valley School, Dehradun. Our boys are attendin there three times a week for  coaching with Mr. Prince Vipan (a National level TT coach).

The 12th Uttarakhand State Squash Championship Tournament held at Haridwar from 13th- 14th February 2016. The school were the runners up in the boys’ school category. Ishita Bhardwaj and Mayank Sojatia secured third position in the women’s and men’s open categories.

Cricket Results

The first fixtures of the season say the 1XI and U15 team play Kasiga School on 15th February 2016. The 1XI won by eight wickets with Siddharth Jain taking five wickets and Viksit Verma took three wickets. The U15 team won by one hundred and twenty-three runs. On 21st February the 1XI team played Coach’s 11 and lost by one hundred runs and the U15 team played the Sports College, Derhadun. The latter lost by fifteen runs.

On 28th February 2016, the Junior team played against Little Masters Academy and won by one wicket in a nail biting finish. Manan Agarwal scored 35 not out and took two wickets and Dhanvi Shukla scored twenty one runs.

Congratulations to Raihan Vadra from Kashmir House who has completed the Master Scuba Diver Certification by PADI, the Professional Association of Divers International. Raihan is one of the youngest boys in India to have achieved this award. This is the highest amateur diver’s rating. The award requires a minimum of fifty open water dives, 5 speciality certifications (these are five separate courses and tests) and completion of the Rescue Diver Course (this entails full rescue training including Emergency First Responder rating -CPR/BLS-First Aid). Raihan has completed all this and the following are his speciality trainings: Diver Propulsion Vehicle, Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver, Digital Underwater Photographer, Boat Diver and Fish Identification. He has also completed 50 dives in the open sea diving to a maximum of 30 metres (99 feet). This year he did many challenging dives in 25 metre coral walls with caves and 18 metre deep holes under adverse sea conditions with very strong currents.

U14 Football Tournament 2015: It is still all to play for as Doon launch’s its inaugural tournament for the U14’s.

IPSC Soccer in Sikkim 2015: This is still going on. Watch out for later news when it comes.

The school’s second soccer team played Col. Shashi Memorial Inter-School Soccer Tournament 2015 at Cambrian Hall. The school team played Maa Anandmayee Memorial Public Tournament but lost 2-0 and also lost against Carman School Premnagar 2-1.

Basketball: The Doon School basketball team played against Woodstock school, Mussorrie, on our new courts on 16th August. But the match was called off due to heavy rain. The score till the match was called off was:

Junior team: The Doon School 14 and Woodstock School 10

Senior team: The Doon School 15 and Woodstock 21

The heavy monsoon has also stopped play for the other matches too.

Shooting: With the school’s own shooting range and new coach, congratulations to Rishab Badhwar who won a silver medal in the 50m Rifle Prone Event and shot 271 out of 300.

Govind Singh Sandhu, from Jaipur House has participated in two equestrian competitions held in Chandigarh during the summer holidays in 2015. He won eight medals which included two golds, two silver medals and four bronze medals. He has also been selected to be part of the Punjab team to participate in the National Equestrian Show.

His scores were as follows:

• 1st place: Show jumping normal (Open age category )
• 1st place: Show jumping top score (Open age category )
• 2nd place: Show jumping ( 15 – 18)

The school junior cricket team played a match against Indian Public School on Wednesday 29th April in a tournament currently being held at Cambrian Hall. The School junior cricket Team scored 150 runs in 20 overs. The Indian Public School scored 90 and were all out in 17 overs. The school team won the match by 60 runs. Aditya Vikram Singh scored 51 runs. Paras Gupta took 5 wickets. Credible performances were given by Dhairya Rastogi and Shiwen Diwan.

The school junior cricket team played a match against Moradabad Public school on Friday 1st May in a tournament currently being held at Cambrian Hall. The school junior cricket team scored 128 runs in 20 overs. Moradabad Public school scored 113 runs and the school won the match by 15 runs.

Anuman Goel scored 35 runs. Credible performances were given by Dhairya Rastogi and Ravshan singh Mangat . The school junior cricket team has reached in quarter final by winning all the matches in their group and will play the quarter final match on 6th May.
